Welcoming the New Year!

As so many of you have verified, keeping up a regular Yoga practice really helped your body, mind, breath and emotions to cope with what can only be described as a turbulent year.  Every practice begins with finding a comfortable seated or supine position and closing the eyes – symbolising all beginnings as we can’t see into the future.  So positioning yourself comfortably for what lies ahead is a good place to start!  With your eyes closed you might then set an intention for your practice: what you hope will become your reality.   It could just be an inspiring word or a mantra to anchor your mind.  Once you feel centred and connected to your breath and your intention, you then begin the sequence of poses and Yoga techniques to move energy through the body and through the space that you occupy.  In a similar vein, each new year often begins with resolutions for new characteristics you would like to cultivate, or wishes for things you’d like to manifest into your life as you move through the months ahead.  As we welcome in this New Year with open arms we celebrate the survival of 2020 also!  It would have been unbelievable at the start of 2020 to think that OfA would be closed for 5 months of the coming year.  And now, as we begin a new year, we are back to our online community of OMazing Yogis who quite literally keep us going throughout lockdown and who keep our little Yoga sanctuary alive.  The resonant, heartfelt and continuous support of our clients strengthens One for All’s determination to continue to provide a one-of-a-kind Yoga experience to each and every person who walks through our doors (or joins us online).  Our intention all along has been to get people moving, to educate experientially the benefits of Yoga and to create community. Being able to do all of that throughout a year of global pandemic has required sincere dedication on the part of our students.  This last year has been a startling and merciless rollercoaster of tears, hardship and breakthroughs; but 2020 has to be remembered for it’s good points too!  From our first 29 Day Challenge back in February, the joys of bringing people together from around the world via our live-streamed classes, to the memorable experience of having a masked film crew in the studio shooting an advert for Chilly water bottles – life goes on right!

As we welcome the New Year, we look to transform our habitual patterns and create new positive patterns.  Interestingly, a study published by the University of California supports the approach to shift from habit to intentionally-directed action.  Although you may feel as though your daily thoughts and actions are hardwired into your consciousness, it turns out the brain has neuroplasticity meaning it can be changed or rewired!  But before you can overwrite your old habits with new ones, the first step towards successful transformation lies in noticing what your existing habits are!  You notice without judgement – otherwise known as mindfulness – and ultimately the best way to practise this is through meditation!  So if you tend to rely on familiar routines as if on auto-pilot, there’s never been a better excuse to do MORE MEDITATION!  Whether it’s a New Year’s resolution or something you want to improve any time of the year, all of us here at One for All would like to thank wholeheartedly our Yogi community who decided to make that positive change by taking up Yoga and by sticking with it through thick and thin – OfA wouldn’t be here without you!

LOVE FROM THE OfA COMMUNITY!

Amidst the fast pace of life lies a little tranquil haven.  Yoga practice at One for All motivates, energises and uplifts my mind and body yet provides the reassurance to approach each session sensibly by listening to my body.  Thank you Jesse and Lucy for creating such an amazing environment.  I love yoga because of you and the One for All community.

Such a beautiful studio and Lucy and Jesse were so welcoming and friendly. Being a large girl and not having done any exercise for some time I was a tad nervous. I was instantly put at ease and found the class easy to follow and did not feel pressured to keep up if I was struggling with a pose. I worked at my own pace and loved the hot environment! I really really enjoyed the class and afterwards I felt calm, peaceful and that I had had a good overall workout! I am hooked!

This is an amazing Yoga Studio with the most wonderful instructors, Jesse and Lucy. I am suffering with ongoing health issues at the moment and they have been so incredibly supportive. They provide positive encouragement to help ensure that I achieve my goals to recover as soon as possible both safely and in an enjoyable way.

I had only tried hot yoga once before I found this place and I was slightly put off by a few things, but thought I’d join my friend and at such an amazing opening offer, I absolutely love the atmosphere at one for all yoga, very clean and good size changing rooms, such friendly people and both flow and yin classes are really good, really starting to feel the benefits from only 4 sessions.

Jesse and Lucy are the loveliest people you could wish to meet, they put so much thought and care into each hour and it’s always varied and fun. I was a total beginner (still am) and they have made a warm welcome and enjoyable place for me to visit  which has benefited my aches and pains and improved general well being. I wish them every success in Bournemouth and hope they are here for a very long time. Thank you! X

Yoga teacher took the time to give a personalised instruction. The studio is immaculate (no carpet, yay) and has a fresh, relaxing vibe.

Me and my friends attended our first Hot Yoga class… and we loved it! The yoga teacher allowed us to stay at our own pace and gave us easier positions to do when needed.

The changing rooms, showers and yoga mats were all immaculate and the studio had a lovely relaxing scent – Highly recommended.

I had the opportunity to try Flow Yoga at One for All Yoga and I loved it! In a month all my pains and aches started disappearing. The place has its own charisma. Also, the music is carefully selected for each session! Not to mention the quality classes! Highly recommended!!

I’ve had the pleasure of doing yoga in countless countries, on four different continents and this has been my favorite yoga studio ever! Amazing teachers, great studio vibe, and challenging classes that leave you feeling accomplished.

Tonight was the second time I’d visited One for all and I love it. I love the heat, the beautiful building and Jesse is a great teacher. I look forward to spending more time here and trying Lucy’s classes. So happy we have something like this in Bournemouth!

This is just great! I would recommend everyone to try the One For All Hot Yoga. You need to heat up these chilly days. It was the first time I tried Hot Yoga and I loved it.  I felt the immediate benefits of the yoga poses in my body and I will go again.  Also, Lucy and Jesse fill the place with positive energy and the yoga studio is simply amazing.

I am a complete novice and thanks to my friends constant reminders I eventually agreed to go. The first session was hard, very, but I was hooked. I have never felt so exhausted from doing what looked initially like so little. It will take a few more sessions to be able to do some of the more intricate stances, but I’ll have a great time, feeling considerably fitter and more supple. Its low impact for those, including me, with a few old injuries but the moves your body can do without too much effort still astound me… I still like my free weights, but this is really something else and all those I have met so far are welcoming and patient, I only regret not starting earlier than 53.

I had my first class today and it was lovely! Lovely beautiful studio. Great space. I am also a larger lady who is not very flexible or fit but I didn’t feel pressured to get a pose right. I felt so relaxed and peaceful when I left. Really enjoyed the whole experience and will definitely go back!
