Playlists for Home Practice

Often when I create a new playlist I have no idea how it’s going to go.  But considering playlists to go with a Flow can inspire the overall pace and mood of the practice.  This is why I love practising Yoga to music.

One of the best ways to get into the zone of a home practice is to create your own playlist.  My number one tip for this is to prioritise instrumental melodies over lyrical.  My second tip is to choose tracks that you would want to listen to at any time and not just during your practice.  Another suggestion is to give yourself a theme to work with.  A theme could be based on emotions, affirmations or a couple of words to describe the overall mood you’re going for.  Maybe have a listen to some of Spotify’s suggestions for you, bearing in mind you probably want to err towards more mellow pieces.

Jesse and I both have public Spotify playlists that we use when we teach.  So go ahead and check them out for inspiration or to play through your home practices with us.
