Jesse and I have been practising Yoga together for almost 8 years now. Since before the romance came into play. But now with family commitments it feels like we rarely get to practice together anymore. Some of you may have seen how thrilled we are to be on the mat together when the grandparents visit. While we are content to spend Valentine’s watching a rom com on Netflix, that’s something we do pretty much every Saturday night so we thought this year we’d do something a little different. This Valentine’s Day we’ve decided to celebrate by running a 75-minute Partner Yoga workshop where you can join us with your loved ones. So what are the benefits of partner Yoga?
IT’S PLAYFUL AND FUN
When was the last time you played like a kid, letting go of adult life? Partner Yoga can bring new space to your relationship. It’s a focused activity that involves you and one other person where you can both let go of your worries of the world. You get to relax and play and be like kids again.
IT’S A TIME FOR BALANCE, STRETCHING AND CONNECTION
Not only does Partner Yoga bring some play and fun to the mat, but it helps to build balance and offer a deeper stretch by using your partner’s body. We love seeing partners and families practising together in our regular classes. With Partner Yoga you take this to a new level by actually practising using each other’s bodies. You can connect with each other and build your practice together in a way that is truly rewarding.
IT ALLOWS YOU TO GIVE THE GIFT OF TIME TOGETHER
In a Partner Yoga class you get to give one another your uninterrupted attention. During your Valentine’s partner Yoga celebration, you focus on each other, putting all other aspects of your lives to one side and out of reach, and you can then truly cherish your time together. The gift of time is sure to strengthen your connection to your loved one.
IT CREATES MEMORIES
In an increasingly busy world, it’s so easy to get caught up in work and personal tasks. Life can get pretty routine if you get stuck in the daily grind. Partner Yoga reverses this pattern. By trying something new, you create memories together. It reminds you that you can tick daily exercise off your to-do list whilst also having fun with your partner and giving you something to talk about later.
IT CAN BOOST YOUR LIBIDO!
In our Partner Yoga workshop we will be doing poses to open the hamstrings and the heart, strengthening the core muscles and calming the nervous system, all of which are fabulous ingredients for fun later on 😉
