Frequently asked questions about starting at Yoga One Bournemouth

Do I need to have some degree of flexibility to practise Yoga?

Everyone is different.  Whilst some people may be able to touch their toes in their first class, many people find their flexibility increases over time.  We ask that you come with an open mind and no expectations about what your body can or can’t currently do.  We recommend you attend a few classes at Yoga One Bournemouth to get a feel for the teaching style we offer and how it works for you.

How often should I practise?

In an ideal world we would all be practising 5 or 6 days a week, but realistically once or twice a week is a good place to start.

Why should I get a 4 Week Introductory Offer?

Our 4 Week Introductory Offer is available to all new students.  This is a way for you to check in as you begin your Yoga journey with us and receive support and guidance as you start this life-changing practice.  Continuing onto full membership is optional and you can decide if you’d like to join at the end of the introductory period.  This can be done online, by email or in person and we will get in touch with you a week or so before your introductory period ends.

What happens if I’ve bought my intro but cannot attend the class?

Your intro pass is non refundable.  Once your pass is purchased, it gets activated from the first class you book into.  Should you find you can’t make it to that class, the booking can be canceled and the pass will be activated from the next class you book.  All classes on the schedule are available to use with your intro pass and are suitable for all levels.

I’m not going to be around for the full 4 weeks, can I get a cheaper pass?

The cost of the intro pass is the value of two casual classes.  If you only make it to two classes you will have gotten your money’s worth.  If you have an injury during your Intro or have to go away unexpectedly, Yoga One Bournemouth will assess whether it’s suitable for you to pause or defer your introductory offer.

What continuing membership will be available post the 4 Week Intro?

A weekly Unlimited membership plus 1 or 2 classes a week memberships are available to purchase online.  Monthly or yearly upfront memberships are also available.

Will I be able to do drop in classes rather than membership?

Whilst we would love all of our Intro students to continue as ongoing members, Yoga One Bournemouth has casual class passes and block class passes available to purchase following your Intro period.  There is the option to join on a membership basis at a later date if that suits you better.

Are pauses to the membership plans available?

Yes you can pause your membership for a fortnight or a week at a time for up to 4 weeks a year, chat to Jesse or Lucy for more information.

Why should I get a membership?

To really get the benefits of Yoga you need to practise consistently, and having a membership at a studio encourages a consistent practice.  With that in mind, the 12 month upfront unlimited membership is by far the best value.  If your work or lifestyle means you travel a lot and can’t make regular classes at Yoga One Bournemouth, this is a really good option too as the 5 and 10 class passes expire after 3 and 6 months respectively.
