We’re hoping everyone has a wonderful holiday season, with plenty of relaxation, love and time spent with your nearest and dearest. We will be spending it with family over in West Dorset, looking forward to some relaxation and rejuvenation, getting ready for the new year with some structure and routine.
Many people focus on resolutions or changes they wish to make at the start of a new calendar year. I like to reflect on my wins over the past year and come up with some realistic intentions for the upcoming year. Mainly I choose a general area that I’d like to focus on, for example this year the focus was home and family. We had a lovely family photoshoot in spring taken by the gorgeous Tash Busta and my living room is now a gallery of happy family moments together. Some of the other things on my last are still works-in-progress but they got started so that’s the main thing. Next year, I will continue my efforts to declutter and plan more trips and days out for the family.
On January 1st I’m going to be running a Chakra Balancing and Meditation workshop. The chakras are part of the subtle energy body that we work with in Yoga and are a big part of my class themes even if I do not mention them as such. I think a session dedicated to balancing all seven major chakras is a fabulous way to start the New Year whether you’re inclined to set resolutions/goals or not.
Each chakra is said to vibrate with a distinct frequency, element, mantra and colour – influencing specific body parts, emotions, and states of consciousness.
During the workshop we will awaken each of the seven major chakras with guided techniques including mudras, mantras and kriyas. With less emphasis on physical yoga postures, the practice will be mostly seated with a few gentle movements to encourage energy to circulate through the spine, fostering a deep sense of inner connection and energetic balancing.
Finishing with a guided meditation, you will work your way up from the root chakra to the crown chakra, clearing, cleansing and balancing all the way up the seven major chakras, leaving you feeling revitalised, balanced and ready for the new year.
If this sounds like a great way to bring in the new calendar year, book your spot here.
