The combination of Myofascial Release (MFR) techniques with gentle Yin Yoga postures creates a powerful synergy for nourishing both your physical and mental wellbeing.

Inducing a deep feeling of relaxation at quite literally a visceral level, practising Myofascial Release in combination with Yin Yoga can have a powerful effect on your entire system, similar to when you have a really strong massage. Even if you feel a bit tender during the process!

I am so grateful to be able to be able to get our bags of balls out again at Yoga One Bournemouth and share my love of fascia with all our dedicated students. A huge thank you to my teacher Jo Phee for introducing me to this powerful practice.

We’ll begin with a few minutes of compression for the upper arm muscles and pecs, we’ll then do some shearing and compression with Yin poses working up the legs, finishing up at the centre of the body with the torso, spending some time on the trapezius and rhomboids and erector spinae. Don’t worry if you don’t know your tensor fasciae latae from your iliopsoas as we’ll be working through it together and the beauty of MFR is you simply do it where you feel you need it!

This Saturday evening session will cultivate harmony and balance as you soften into your edge with the Yin Yoga poses, releasing and letting go of tension and increasing flexibility as your fascia, connective tissues and even bones are energised. Prana will be stimulated in the energy channels the Yogis call nadis, encouraging the free flow of the life force that flows through your entire being as you release deeply-held blockages.
