Rocket Yoga

Rocket Yoga is a dynamic, fast-paced style of yoga that is based on the traditional Ashtanga Yoga system. It was developed by Larry Schultz in the 1980s as a way to make Ashtanga Yoga more accessible and adaptable to different levels of practitioners.

The term “Rocket” refers to the idea of “flying” through the asanas (yoga postures) with grace and ease, as well as the sense of lightness and freedom that comes with practicing this style of yoga.

Rocket Yoga typically consists of a series of standing, seated, and balancing postures that are linked together in a flowing sequence. Unlike traditional Ashtanga Yoga, which follows a set sequence of postures, Rocket Yoga allows for more flexibility and creativity in the sequencing of the practice.

In Rocket Yoga, there are three main sequences: “Rocket 1”, “Rocket 2”, and “Rocket 3”. Each sequence builds on the previous one, and includes variations and modifications of the traditional Ashtanga postures.

At Yoga One Bournemouth, Rocket Yoga is taught in nice cosy room, which helps to warm up the muscles and increase flexibility there will be upbeat music and playful, energetic atmosphere.

Overall, Rocket Yoga is a challenging and invigorating style of yoga that can help to build strength, flexibility, and mindfulness. It is a great choice for yogis who are looking for a more dynamic and creative practice.
